This is the final post in our new series of cultural events at the Conrad Centre, University of Guyana, and presented in partnership with the Departments of Anthropology and Women’s Studies and the Centre for Caribbean Studies at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. The event was organized and hosted by the Women’s Studies and Caribbean Studies departments, and was coordinated by Vindra Gutzeit and Arjun Bhattacharya.
Megan Smeeton of the University of the West Indies will lead the panel. She is a graduate of York University and a PhD candidate at the University of the West Indies. Her dissertation examines how the relationship between the Caribbean and the United States (US) may be perceived through the prism of tourism, focusing particularly on tourism’s cultural implications.
